There once was a woman who lived in a shoe… Well, she’s an Indigenous scientist and she lives in a moccasin, and she does so much to help save animals who have lost their habitat.
LADY: It’s a moccasin. A moccasin. I live in a moccasin. Geesh. And I’m not old, not that it’s bad to be old.
NARRATOR: OK, OK. There was a young Indigenous woman who lived in a moccasin.
LADY: That’s better.
NARRATOR: She had so many children she didn’t know what to do.
LADY: Hey, I don’t have any kids!
NARRATOR: OK, OK you win. It’s your story.
LADY: I’m a scientist who has so many animals at the animal rescue because their homes were destroyed. There are many animals that are at the risk of extinction, of disappearing from the earth, like the Somatran orangutans from Indonesia or the African lions who live in southern and eastern Africa and the wood bison from North America. There are hundreds and hundreds of animals whose habitats, their homes, are endangered. Humans are taking over animal homes. We have to ask ourselves how can we protect animal habitat or maybe one day these animals will disappear forever.
LADY AND NARRATOR: Help protect animal habitat. Help protect our animal brothers and sisters!
